Columbia pedestrian dies from injuries suffered in May accident

The pedestrian badly hurt on a south Columbia street in May dies from his injuries.

His wife, Adrienne, says on her Facebook page that Randall Siddens died on Monday afternoon.

Siddens, 34, was picking up traffic cones after a race on the morning of Sunday, May 5, on Grindstone near Old Highway 63. A police car with flashing lights was behind him. But officers say Regine McCracken was speeding and on a video chat while driving when she swerved across a lane of traffic and hit Siddens.

McCracken is facing a felony assault charge and more right now.

Siddens leaves behind a wife and three children. One of them was born after the accident. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family.
