Columbia pedestrian hit by car on Highway 63

A Columbia pedestrian is badly hurt after getting hit by a car on Highway 63.

Police say the accident happened at the Conley Rd. overpass between the I-70 connector and the Broadway exit at about 6 p.m. Monday. Steven Ledbetter apparently walked into the path of a car while trying to cross the highway in the rain. Drugs or alcohol may have been a factor for the pedestrian.

Ledbetter, 49, has serious injuries. The driver of the car, 32-year-old Kyle Yeagley of Columbia, was not hurt.
