Columbia police arrest arson suspect near apartment complex

A Jefferson City woman is facing arson charges in Columbia.

Police say Alruekia Brown-Wells, 30, set a fire on purpose at about 3:20 a.m. Monday outside Columbia Square Apartments on Claudell Lane. No one was hurt.

Brown-Wells is now in jail on charges of arson, endangering the welfare of a child, and assault.
