Columbia police find meth during southwest Columbia drug investigation

UPDATE: CPD Spokesman Jeff Pitts said an officer was hurt during the incident. He suffered cuts to the arm, leg and hand.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police have taken two people into custody after finding drugs at a Columbia apartment complex.

ABC 17 News reports that authorities received a complaint call around 2:00 a.m., and arrived at The Pointe on Rock Quarry Road a little while later.

When they got there, a man and a woman took off running from a parked car, but were eventually taken into custody near Cedar Drive Mobile Court.

Officers found meth, but it’s unclear how much they found.

The investigation is ongoing.
