Columbia Police are asking you to avoid the area around Medina drive in north Columbia, as they investigate the death of a man and injuries to another man in an overnight disturbance.

While CPD investigators are releasing few details, they say they were called to the 700 block of Medina drive at about 12:15 am for a reported disturbance. Medina drive is north of I-70, near North Creasy Springs road.

Columbia Police say that when they arrived, they found a dead adult male on-scene. They say they also found an adult male with non-life threatening injuries. That person was transported by EMS to a local hospital. Columbia Police say there is no threat to the public at this time. CPD detectives and crime scene investigators remain on-scene.

Our news partner ABC-17 reports their crews saw crime scene tape blocking off an area, along with CPD’s crime scene investigations van and at least six Columbia Police vehicles.
