Police say they’ve arrested a man for his role in a burglary that left a woman shot in central Columbia.
Justin Spence, 39, was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree assault, first degree burglary, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a gun.
Officers found a victim inside a home on East Forest Street around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. She told officers a man broke in, tried to have sex with her, then went outside and started shooting. She went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It’s unclear if Spence was the same guy looking through another home’s windows on nearby Pendleton Street two hours earlier. Investigators had said the same man could be involved in both cases.
