Columbia public works director to retire in October

Columbia’s public works director is retiring.

Officials announced Thursday that Dave Nichols will end his 16-year career with the city of Columbia. His last day will be Oct. 14. Nichols has served as public works director since 2015.

City manager John Glascock will oversee the process of hiring Nichols’ replacement. Glascock announced last month that he will retire in January.
