Here’s an update on the weekend 2024 Missouri State High School Activities Association’s (MSHSAA) boys and girls basketball tournaments:
- The Columbia Rock Bridge girls are heading to another Final Four, after beating Staley 42-39 in Friday night’s class 6 quarterfinals. Rock Bridge will battle Incarnate Word in the class 6 semifinals Friday at 4 pm at Mizzou Arena. Both teams are powerhouses in class 6.
- The Columbia Hickman boys’ season ends, after falling to Oak Park 73-63 in Saturday afternoon’s class 6 quarterfinal game. The Kewpies finish the season 22-8.
- The Jefferson City Jays boys basketball team is heading to the Final Four, after beating Parkview 58-57 in overtime in Saturday’s Class 5 quarterfinal game. The Jays will face Vianney Wednesday afternoon at 2 in the class 5 semifinals at Mizzou Arena. - The Helias Lady Crusaders’ season is over, after falling to powerhouse program Marshfield 56-49 in Friday night’s class 5 quarterfinal game. Marshfield is near Springfield.
- In Class 4 boys action, Columbia’s Fr. Tolton has been eliminated by Logan-Rogersville 60-53 in Saturday’s class 4 quarterfinals. Fr. Tolton is led by Mizzou commit Aaron Rowe.
- The Centralia girls has captured a third-place finish in the class 3 final four at Mizzou Arena. Centralia beat St. Pius X 36-34 in Saturday afternoon’s third-place game. Centralia had a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter against top-ranked El Dorado Springs on Friday at Mizzou Arena, before falling 52-41.
