Mid-Missourians who need a fan in this scorching heat are encouraged to come out Tuesday to Columbia’s Douglass park for a fan giveaway.
Today’s heat index in Columbia/Jefferson City will approach 100. The Columbia Salvation Army is hosting a local event from 10 am to 2 pm today at Columbia’s Douglass park. They’ll distribute about 200 home box fans to those who need them. The fans were donated by Westlake Ace True Value hardware.
You’re asked to bring a picture ID with you, and you’ll also need to know your social security number.
