Columbia school board not paying bus drivers, by request

There’s a reason the Columbia Public Schools board of education voted not to pay bus drivers without a route right now because of COVID-19.

ABC 17 reports those drivers said at Monday night’s meeting they would make more money on unemployment.

Jefferson City’s school board said Monday night hundreds of seniors and their parents have taken a survey about how to handle events like graduation ceremonies. Superintendent Larry Linthacum said he wants to wait until more survey results come in before making a decision.

Senator Roy Blunt on Monday said Missouri K-12 education is getting $208 million in emergency funding from the feds.
