CPS putting remote learning on hold; Cole County schools extend closure

Columbia Public Schools is putting its remote learning plan on hold the rest of the week.

The district said Wednesday morning it needs time to “adjust our alternative learning expectations for staff and students.”

Middle and high school students won’t have to take any tests or turn in any assignments the next three days. CPS says it will put out more info later in the week on the adjusted expectations.

In-person learning stopped in the district on Mar. 17 because of COVID-19 concerns.

The Jefferson City School District, and the other public schools in Cole County, announced Wednesday they will extend their closure past the original expected date. The districts say they will remain closed through at least Friday, May 1.
