Columbia senator elected as Majority Floor Leader

The Republican senator from Columbia will serve in a key leadership role in the upcoming state legislative session.

Caleb Rowden, R-Columbia, was elected as Majority Floor Leader by the republican caucus Thursday.

“I am humbled by my colleagues’ vote of confidence,” said Rowden. “I first entered into public service because, as a soon-to-be new father, I wanted to play an active role in shaping the future of the community my children would grow up in. The Missouri Senate’s Majority Caucus has consistently delivered results for the people of Missouri: lower taxes for working families, record education funding and a pro-growth business environment. I am committed to working with my fellow senators to articulate a positive, productive agenda for Missouri.”

The role was previously held by Jefferson City Senator Mike Kehoe, who was tapped to become Lieutenant Governor in June 2018.
