Columbia ties record for coldest Halloween high temperature

The National Weather Service says the cold conditions on Halloween were historic.

The high temperature at Columbia Regional Airport was just 39 degrees. That ties the record set in 1993.

Authorities reported several slide-offs during the wintry conditions on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
