Columbia’s city council has given the green light for Parks and Recreation to apply for a $250,000 federal grant to help replace three bridges along the popular MKT Trail.
The city council approved it Monday night.
If Columbia receives the federal Recreational Trails Program federal grant, they would have to come up with $275,000 in matching funds. Parks and Recreation would use money from the November park sales tax extension.
Staff hopes to replace MKT trail bridges two, nine and ten.
