The owner of Columbia Urgent Care has been arrested after a 38-count federal indictment that accuses him of defrauding Medicare and Medicaid and also providing prescription drugs to friends and to those with whom he had sexual relationships.
A federal grand jury in St. Louis has indicted Dr. Jonathan Wayne Morris of Columbia on 15 counts of illegal prescribing of controlled substances and 23 counts of health care fraud. Federal prosecutors say Dr. Morris also prescribed controlled substances to individuals to whom he offered cocaine.
The FBI has been investigating Dr. Morris, according to court documents.
