Columbia officials say the city’s Solid Waste Utility will start collecting recyclable materials on a weekly basis in mid-June.
What we know: The city says residential customers with curbside collection services will have the opportunity to place their recycling out on their appointed trash collection day each week. Solid Waste notes that residential curbside collection currently happens every other week.
What it means: The city says staffing levels in the Columbia Solid Waste Utility have increased enough that allows the city to resume weekly service for residential curbside customers.
