Columbia woman arrested after suspected assault with a gun

A Columbia woman is arrested after allegedly assaulting two people with a gun.

Police say Jerika Owens, 22, hit two people with the weapon on Friday night on Brewer Drive.

Investigators say Owens had left the scene before officers got there, but she returned. She allegedly resisted arrest before she was taken into custody.

Officers searched Owens’ car and say they found ammunition, but not the gun allegedly used in the assault.
