Columbia’s city council has voted to table a proposal until later this month involving a one percent sales/use tax for public safety for the August ballot.
Our news partner ABC-17 reports the council’s vote was 4-3 to table the decision.
If the council decides to place the proposal on the August ballot, the city says revenue from the tax would directly support Columbia Police and Fire operations, capital improvements and pay/benefit programs.
