Enterprise funds are used to provide services to the public on a user-charged basis. The revenue generated by these funds cover capital improvements, maintenance, operations and upkeep. The airport, the parking division, Solid Waste and sewer are enterprise fund departments/divisions.

The presentation does indicate that we could see a proposed five percent revenue increase for Solid Waste in the next proposed budget. Columbia residents with a 35-gallon roll cart currently pay $12.87 a month. Under the proposal, that would rise to $14.53 next year and to $15.98 in fiscal year 2028.

Today’s meeting is at 3 in the council chambers. It is open to the public.
