Columbia’s fire chief will be heading to Arkansas to become the new director of the Arkansas Fire Training Academy. Southern Arkansas University Tech has posted the announcement on its website.
Columbia Fire Chief Andy Woody is a 25-year fire service veteran, and has served as chief here in Columbia and in Searcy, Arkansas. Columbia city spokeswoman Sydney Olsen tells 939 the Eagle that Chief Woody’s last day with the city will be February 25.
Chief Woody has sent an e-mail to firefighters, saying the last two years have been the most challenging in the history of the fire service, and says CFD has met every challenge head-on, with outcomes that exceeded expectations.
