Despite key endorsements for his opponent, Columbia fourth ward councilman Nick Foster has easily won re-election to a second term.

Foster received 4,570 votes to beat challenger Ron Graves, who received 2,775 votes. The powerful Laborers union declined to make an endorsement in the race. Mr. Graves, who works at Truman VA, was endorsed by the Columbia Police Officers Association (CPOA) and by the Columbia Board of Realtors. Councilman Foster and his supporters went door-to-door in the fourth ward. Foster tells our news partner KMIZ that he’s also pleased that Mayor Barbara Buffaloe was re-elected, saying she’s done an outstanding job.

Councilman Foster will receive the oath of office for his second term later this month.
