The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri says last Saturday’s ninth annual Hope for Heroes 5K in Columbia raised more than $65,000, including in-kind supports.
A record 260 racers participated and Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri spokeswoman Katie Adkins tells 939 the Eagle that the race will be a 5K/10K next year and will be moving to a new location.

Proceeds from Saturday’s event will assist the Food Bank’s VIP veteran pack program for 560 Missouri veterans facing food insecurity each month. Cosmo and Kat from Zimmer’s Y-107 served as Saturday’s event emcees.

What’s next: The Hope for Heroes 5K in Columbia will be a 5K/10K in 2027 and will move to a new location, which has not been announced yet.
