A $40,000 improvement project at Columbia’s popular Lake of the Woods golf course has been approved by the city council. The project is being funded by the golf course improvement fund, which is paid for by golfers.

The city will convert Lake of the Woods’ fleet of 52 gas-powered golf carts to electric-powered golf carts. A new cart shed is being built, and will be completed by August. The city is also installing additional security cameras and lighting around the cart shed, to increase facility security.

The course is located near I-70’s Lake of the Woods exit.
