Missouri’s economic development director joined local leaders at Thursday’s groundbreaking ceremony for EquipmentShare’s massive headquarters expansion on Bull Run in east Columbia.

EquipmentShare chief executive officer and founder Jabbok Schlacks, state Department of Economic Development (DED) director Michelle Hataway and others spoke at the ceremony.

The expansion involves a new multi-million dollar 70,000 square foot facility that will mark the third building on the sprawling campus, which is just south of I-70. Mr. Schlacks says the state-of-the-art expansion will provide room for up to 300 corporate team members.

Coil Construction president David Coil says the expansion represents more than a building and is an investment in people, innovation and our community’s future.

EquipmentShare cut the ribbon on its $100-million new headquarters in Columbia in April 2025. Missouri beat out Alabama, Mississippi and other states for the project.

Mayor Barbara Buffaloe describes EquipmentShare’s continued investment in Columbia as “a powerful testament to our region’s thriving economic landscape and talent pipeline.” EquipmentShare expects construction to be done in mid-2028.
