Columbia Parks and Recreation’s annual winter trout fishing program begins this afternoon at Cosmo-Bethel park, near Gentry middle school. The program opens today at 1.

Missouri Department of Conservation agents will stock the lake at Cosmo-Bethel with about 2,400 trout for the winter trout fishing program.

Columbia Parks and Recreation says all trout must be released unharmed from today through January 31, adding that only artificial baits can be used during that time. Columbia parks officials say a valid Missouri fishing permit and a trout permit are required.
