Columbia’s retiring utilities director to be recognized by the city council Monday

The retiring director of Columbia City Utilities will receive a resolution of appreciation Monday evening by the city council.

Dave Sorrell will retire on Friday March 14 after 24 years of service. He started with the city of Columbia in 2001 with Public Works and was named utilities director in 2020.

City manager De’Carlon Seewood praises Mr. Sorrell, saying he made a profound impact on the reliability of Columbia’s utility operations, ensuring our community received the highest level of service.
