Columbia’s school board has voted to approve a six percent pay raise for superintendent Dr. Jeff Klein.

Columbia Public Schools (CPS) spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark tells 939 the Eagle that the board approved the increase Monday night.
Superintendent Klein is finishing his first year in that role and earns a $255,000 salary. The board’s vote means he will earn about $270,300 for the 2026-2027 school year.

CPS is Missouri’s fourth-largest school district. Springfield is Missouri’s largest district and their superintendent makes more than $353,000.
