The winter storm has caused Columbia’s seventh-largest employer to close its offices today (Monday).
Shelter Insurance officials tell 939 the Eagle that their home offices on Columbia’s West Broadway and their claims office are closed. 2024 statistics from Columbia Regional Economic Development Incorporated (REDI) show that Shelter has 1,382 employees in Columbia/Boone County. They’ll have remote operations.
Beyond Meat’s Columbia plant and its other two facilities are also closed today, due to the winter storm.
