The National Weather Service (NWS) has forecast overnight low temperatures of 17-18 degrees for both tomorrow and Saturday nights in Columbia.

Noting that forecast, city officials plan to open the Wabash station as an overnight warming center both evenings from 7 pm to 6 am, for those unable to access local emergency services. The city notes the threshold for opening the emergency warming center at Wabash has been raised from 15 to 25 degrees.

Opening the Wabash station gives homeless residents in Columbia another option to stay warm both nights.
