The plummeting temperatures and anticipated winter weather have prompted Columbia officials to announce that they will open the Wabash station as an overnight warming center tonight (Tuesday) through Friday night.

Unhoused residents can use the building each night from 7 pm until 6 am. The facility is on North 10th downtown.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has forecast overnight low temperatures below 25 degrees each night. Snow and sleet is predicted for Wednesday night through Thursday evening.
