Is there time left in the session for Jefferson City to get the parcel of land suggested for a river port?
The debate at the Capitol surrounds that 100-plus acres near the National Guard’s Skelton Site.
Cole County Western Commissioner Kris Scheperle is still hopeful, saying “we’re trying to gage interest with businesses in this area that would possibly use that.”
The bill containing that land conveyance is now in the Senate. Lawmakers have until Friday evening to approve the final plan.
