Construction was scheduled to start Monday morning on a new road project in downtown Columbia.
The city is extending the right turn lane and sidewalk from Providence to Broadway at the southeast corner of the intersection. That will be an entrance for the expanded Flat Branch Park.
CVS Pharmacy tried to build on that corner but was rejected several times.
The project will cost $130,000.
