Missouri State Fair officials thank FFA and 4-H students for helping to pack thousands of child-friendly meals Tuesday at the state fairgrounds in Sedalia.
It was part of the Missouri Farmers Care food drive, and the state Department of Agriculture (MDA) says 152,000 total meals were packaged.
Today (Wednesday) is senior appreciation day at the fair. There is a $2 off adult and senior gate admission with a sticker available on today’s Sedalia-Democrat newspaper
Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft’s securities division and the Wolfner Library have a booth today inside the Mathewson Exhibition Center to distribute literature. You’re are encouraged to stop by if you have any questions or need assistance.
Meantime, legendary rock band ZZ Topp will perform at the state fair in Sedalia tonight, along with Goodbye June. ZZ Topp reportedly has sold an estimated 50-million albums worldwide.
There will also be a Missouri Waltz Dance contest at 1 pm, and a “fastest fingers in Missouri knitting contest” at 2 pm. Cooler weather is helping things at the fairgrounds. Today’s high is expected to be 84.
Governor Mike Parson will be on the fairgrounds today to meet with commodity groups like Missouri Farm Bureau about the upcoming special session in Jefferson City.
