You’ll have an opportunity this month to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the $23-million new terminal that’s close to completion at Columbia Regional Airport (COU).

COU plans guided tours on Tuesday July 26 at 3:30 pm. Airport manager Mike Parks says you’ll be among the first to see COU’s new passenger boarding bridges. He predicts they’ll improve the airport experience for everyone flying in and out of COU.

The new terminal is 52,000 square feet, compared to the current 16,000 square feet facility. COU’s current terminal was built in 1968. The main funding source for the new terminal is a hotel tax approved by Columbia voters in 2016.
