The Columbia City Council on Monday authorized streets to be closed for couple of special events in the downtown area on the weekend of Sept. 28-29. The Mid-Missouri Pridefest will take place over both days in the area around Rose Music Hall on Park Avenue. The annual PrideFest parade through the downtown area will be noon on Sunday. The council also authorized part of Fourth Street to be closed on Saturday for “Nic Danger Hip Hop Unity Day.” Entertainment and a concert will take place from 2-10 p.m. on Fourth Street between Broadway and Cherry.
