What will the old Missouri State Penitentiary become?
Now that Jefferson City holds title to about 30 acres at the prison, Councilwoman Laura Ward says there are a lot of possibilities.
“A place that can handle our growing needs for conferences; also, from a historical standpoint, be a destination.”
There has been talk of building a civic center at the site and even a minor league ballfield if the city could attract a team.
