The Missouri Western District Court of Appeals denied Charles Erickson’s appeal on Monday.
Erickson pleaded guilty in 2004 to helping Ryan Ferguson rob Columbia Daily Tribune sports editor Kent Heitholt before Heitholt was killed in 2001.
Ferguson’s conviction and life sentence were vacated in 2013. Ferguson says Erickson should go free too.
Erickson is in the middle of a 25-year sentence.
