Boone County new coronavirus cases reported on Wednesday came in at 22, which matches the county’s daily record.
Another 78 were released from isolation, so active cases decreased to 288. Boone County reported an apparent record 1,100 coronavirus tests on Aug. 15, before fairly low numbers of tests Aug. 16-17 (196 and 159, respectively). Hospitalizations are up a little, to 27, but well below capacity.
Cole County added 22 new cases on Wednesday, with 15 recovered. Callaway County reported just three new cases, and another 20 recoveries.
The state reported 1,258 new cases on Wednesday. Total COVID-19 deaths are up to 1,414. The seven-day positivity rate on tests statewide was steady at 11.1%.
