Columbia Public Schools is now on track for online-only learning, since the rate of active cases in the district lately is above 49 a day.
Boone was just under Wednesday’s record, with 81 new positives Friday. Most of those are 18-22 years old. Another 40 were released from isolation, but active cases went up again, to 543. Boone County hospitalizations rose again, to 46, but stay well below capacity.
The University of Missouri confirmed 306 active cases among students as of Friday, with 70 students recovered.
Callaway County reported just three new cases Friday, with 25 more recovered, dropping active cases in the county to 86.
Missouri reported 1,418 new cases Friday. There were 14 new COVID-19 deaths, bringing that total statewide to 1,464. The seven-day positivity rate in the state was up slightly to 12.3%.
