Boone County has reported more than 100 new cases in seven of the last eight days, confirming 175 on Wednesday. Active cases went up a lot, to 1,122.
Hospitalizations rose again to a record high of 149. Boone County hospitals are operating at “yellow” status, which means they are delaying non-urgent surgeries and/or delaying non-emergency patient transfers from referring hospitals due to capacity or staffing shortages.
Cole County reported 65 new cases Tuesday. Active cases stayed the same at 539. The county reported its 23rd COVID-19 death this week.
Callaway County reported 66 new cases since Friday. Active cases in the county went up to 539 on Tuesday.
