COVID-19 Update (Sept. 1)

Boone County had another of its higher new coronavirus case days on Monday, with 82 positives. More than that, 84, were released from isolation though, so active cases dropped a little.

Hospitalizations in Boone County are down slightly too, to 45, and well below capacity.

Mizzou has 415 active student cases as of Monday, with 134 recoveries. The school is investigating 270 students who may have violated COVID-19 policies. Ten student organizations are temporarily suspended because of that.

Active coronavirus cases are up since last week in Cole and Callaway counties. Cole added 12 new positives on Monday, and now has 111 active cases. Callaway picked up 17 positives since Friday, and now has 103 active cases.

Moniteau County on Tuesday reported its third COVID-19 death. The patient was in his or her 70’s.

Missouri reported 1,042 new cases statewide on Monday. There were 22 reported COVID-19 deaths, upping that total to 1,530.
