COVID-19 Update: Sept. 14

Active coronavirus cases continued a steady drop in Boone County.

Health officials reported 43 new cases Monday. Another 161 patients were released from isolation, which decreased active cases to 638. There were 90 new cases Saturday and 54 on Sunday. Hospitalizations in the county rose to 61, setting a new all-time high for the county. That number is still well below capacity.

The National Guard is conducting free community testing in Columbia on Monday from noon to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 7 a.m. to noon at The Crossing church.

The University of Missouri reported 120 new cases among students since Friday. Active student cases fell to 387, with another 295 students reported as recovered.

Cole County reported 14 new cases Monday. There were 40 new cases in the county on Saturday and 25 on Sunday. Active cases are currently at 145.

Callaway County reported another 25 people have tested positive since Friday. Active cases in the county rose to 156.

The state reported 1,332 new cases on Monday and nine more COVID-19 deaths. There have been a total of 1,714 deaths from COVID-19 in Missouri. The seven-day positivity rate in the state rose slightly to 12%.
