Active coronavirus cases are down in Boone County, to 335, after 41 positives were added Friday. A ninth person died from COVID-19, someone older than 80. Hospitalizations went up to 61, which is a record-high for the county. It is still below capacity.
Active student cases at Mizzou were under 100 on Thursday, for the second straight day. The campus reported 25 new positives, and 95 active cases. Chancellor Mun Choi says the university has seen no evidence of COVID-19 transmission in classrooms.
Active cases went up in Cole County but down in Callaway on Thursday. Cole reported 33 new positives, and now has 128 active cases. Callaway had 10 new cases, and 90 active.
Missouri reported 1,987 new cases on Friday, and 42 deaths from COVID-19. There have been 1,994 total deaths now. The seven-day positivity rate on tests is up a little to 11.8%.
