COVID concerns prompt Helias to schedule Tuesday deep-cleaning of building

COVID concerns have prompted Jefferson City’s Helias Interparish high school to require masks in common areas for students and staff. Masks will also be required in areas where social distancing isn’t possible.

Our sister station KWOS in Jefferson City reports Helias will also be closed on Tuesday after the MLK holiday, for a deep-cleaning of the building.

As for Jefferson City Public Schools (JCPS), the district website COVID tracker says there are currently 78 active students cases, along with 44 active staff cases. A district spokeswoman says JCPS leaders have been meeting daily this week to assess conditions.
