A BB gun joyride ends in criminal charges for four Columbia men.
Columbia Police arrested 19-year-old Triston Stewart on Sunday, along with 18-year-olds Trey Stewart, Christopher Stapleton and Jovon Bibby. Officers say they were driving around in a minivan shooting BB guns at people and property around town, including at the Office Depot parking lot on Providence Road. Police also learned Triston Stewart was hit in the nose with a round from an actual handgun from a victim who responded in self-defense.
Officers took Trey Stewart and Stapleton to Boone County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault, property damage, and armed criminal action, and took Triston Stewart to the hospital for treatment before heading to jail. They let Bibby go with a ticket for property damage.
