Columbia Police say a second motorist has now died from injuries sustained in a horrific September 26 head-on collision on Stadium Boulevard, near West Boulevard.
CPD investigators say 48-year-old Jesus Mendoza-Chavez had been hospitalized in critical condition after the crash, which happened at about 11:10 last Tuesday night. Mr. Mendoza-Chavez has now passed away. Columbia Police say he was driving a GMC Sierra that crossed the center line and struck a second vehicle head-on.
The crash also killed the other driver, 64-year-old John Searle of Columbia. CPD says its investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
