CPOA says survey shows officer morale improving

Columbia’s police officer’s union says morale is up among the rank-and-file.

The Columbia Police Officers Association says an internal survey released Wednesday yesterday (wed) shows more than 90 percent of officers say working conditions and morale of co-workers have improved. 93 percent say recent changes by interim chief Geoff Jones make them more productive and able to do their job.

Jones took over as interim chief in late January. Ken Burton resigned in December soon after being placed on administrative leave.
