CPS admin resigns to take position in Illinois

One of Columbia Public Schools top administrators is leaving the district for a new job in a new state.

Kevin Brown will finish out the week, before taking over in the Waukegan, Illinois, school district as its director of teaching and learning for grades K-8, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Brown had served as Assistant superintendent for secondary education for CPS since 2016.

He was recently slapped with multiple lawsuits by two white high school administrators claiming that brown, a black man, passed them over for jobs because of their race.
