A candidate for Columbia Public Schools board says she would support mask-wearing for students and staff.
Suzette Waters says on Wake Up Columbia that she wants schools to avoid having to switch to online-only learning.
“Whatever we have to do to allow teachers to be in the classroom and provide an environment that is least disruptive, I’m for. And right now, if that’s masking, then that’s what we do,” said Waters.
CPS is under a temporary mask requirement until Friday, Feb. 4 because of rising coronavirus cases in the district. Waters is one of four candidates running for two open seats on the school board. Election day is April 5.
