The Columbia Public Schools Board of Education on Monday night votes on whether to return middle school and high school students to in-person learning.
Elementary students went back to their buildings on Oct. 19. Hundreds are now in isolation or quarantine because of COVID-19. Seven of those buildings have returned to online-only learning because of illness.
The school board asked district officials during last month’s work session what two-day-a-week and four-day-a-week in-person learning plans would look like for older students.
The board voted Oct. 12 to keep middle schoolers and high schoolers online-only. They are not able to stay in stable groups like younger kids, adding to the coronavirus concerns.
